I did my undergraduate degree in the Department of Information Management at Peking University, with an exchange term in the Department of Information Systems at City University of Hong Kong. I then completed my master's at HCDE, University of Washington, and returned to Peking University for a Ph.D. in Information Science. That background is what supports my work across information science, design, and the humanities.本科就读于北京大学信息管理系，其间于香港城市大学资讯系统系交换学习，硕士毕业于华盛顿大学 HCDE，后于北京大学取得情报学博士学位。教育背景支撑了我在信息科学、设计学与人文学科之间的交叉研究。

Before entering academia, I spent four years as a user experience designer, first at Microsoft in the US and then at Alibaba Cloud in Beijing. That experience deeply shaped how I do research: I care whether technology is genuinely useful to people and whether it is accessible to everyone. Even when the subject is data, algorithms, and models, I still start from users' needs and behavior.在进入学术界之前，我曾先后在微软（美国）和阿里云（北京）做过四年用户体验设计师。这段经历深刻影响了我做研究的方式：我关心技术是否真正对人有用、是否对所有人可及；即使在讨论数据、算法和模型时，我依然会首先从用户需求与行为的角度去思考。

What I enjoy most about academic work is that conferences take me all over the world, and fieldwork takes me into museums, libraries, and historical sites — drawing energy from real people, real objects, and the natural world.学术工作中对我而言最享受的是可以在参加学术会议之时前往世界各地，或者是去到博物馆、图书馆和其他文化古迹进行调研，从现实中的人、物和大自然中汲取能量。

Outside of academia, my daily remedies are my lovely daughter, a good cup of coffee, very spicy food, and walks, movies, and stand-up comedy with my partner.学术之外，我的日常解药是我可爱的女儿，好喝的咖啡，很辣的食物，以及和家属遛弯、看电影和脱口秀。
